Planning, Planning, Planning

So much to plan for San Diego! Keep those ideas coming, but I think we will take Tawnya up and go to the zoo and Balboa park. And of course shopping. I want a red Chinese dress. I had to pass last time because of money, but I want to get one this time- if I can find one cheaper than the Oriental store in the mall. Of course I am going to totally ignore the size tag in the dress. Those Oriental women are so small that if I get my normal size, I can't even think about doing it up! So the size I end up getting, well I just ignore the tag.

The missionaries in the MCRD branch are going to have a picnic on Family day, so we will be going to that before we go over and meet the drill instructors. I just have to make sure that we get to spend some time with sand and surf. I really am beginning to think that I just need to plan a vacation with no other goal but being on vacation.

Brandi and I just put the jewels on the carosuel horse that I painted. As soon as I mount it on the pole I will post pictures. Now to supper so that I can go monitor the book club I am in charge of this evening.

Happy Monday!

we loved San diego. We went to the animal park, the zoo and sea world. I liked the Animal park the best. you can get great discount passes through AAA if you're a member, and online as well. We also went to Tiajuana--it was okay. If you're going to eat out, go to The Fish Groto, down by old town. It was awesome, and the Mormon Battalion museum in Old Town was great as well--we did it on Sunday so we felt like we'd done something churchy. Have a great time, I hope the book arrives in time :-)

Let us know what you think of everything...we are still firming up our own plans for october. Are you staying over somewhere or driving all the way through?

That link to the shopping district I sent? There is one store there called....something Lotus. It's a "rent a booth in our store" kinda place. I'm fairly certain you'll be able to get a dress there.

Oh! And what book did you read for book club?

never been there... but sounds like fun. i've always had a fancy for the orient-dresses as well... but i don't own one yet either. i liked your "ignore the tag" suggestion though... (blush) cuz i've done that one before, several times! course, i've had a hard time finding a little shop that sold them AND had a fitting room, leaving me to my "best guess" (scary!) but i guess i've simply hit the wrong places. so, instead, i've ended up with my kenpo leathers. :P Much easier to "kick-butt" in those than the dress...

I am getting no sleep while I am gone it looks like. Too much to do and no time to do it all. Or maybe I will just have to plan a vacation with nothing else on the schedule. We did the batallion museum last time, but I definately want to go back to Old Town. Jess wasn't with us last time and she would love old town. Of course she wants to do a tour of the Midway to take pictures...

The book club is an Urban Botanic book club, so all of our selections are to help us with our business. We are currently reading "Never Eat Alone and other Secrets to success" by Keith Ferrazzi. It is really a rather good book. I'll review it here when I am totally done.

You do realize that a tour of the Midway would take you 80 bazillion days, right? Isaac took his parents and it took them about 5 hours semi hurrying...Just FYI.

Holy cow -- I want a red Chinese dress too! We're going to completely ignore the fact that I'm shaped wrong for it -- those things are gorgeous and so exotic.
